Cave - Bringing visions to life

The final beamer had just been aligned and the first data record imported, and the new CAVE (Computer Assisted Virtual Environment) by Schenck RoTec was launched. Even during the first unusual perspectives of their designs, the developers were able to incorporate some improvements.

In CAVE, video projectors project three-dimensional images based on 3D CAD data. They give users the impression of being directly in the respective system or machine environment. In this manner, components, machines or systems can be intuitively analysed in their virtual environment. The CAVE technology is ideally suited for design reviews with customers, in which the designs are used for ergonomic reviews in purchasing for interfacing coordination with suppliers, in order handling for the preparation of assembly and commissioning as well as for the training of customers, staff and service providers.
