Mechanical Technician, Deer Park, NY (Union Shop)
Summary: Performs activities concerned with the building of prototype balancing machines and large assemblies.
  • Oversees the mechanical assembly of machines and related sub-assemblies
  • Works with Engineering Department in resolving issues of prototype builds
  • Uses standard measuring equipment (micrometer, calipers, height indicators) to perform dimensional checks
  • Performs light machining
  • Performs other duties as required, such as mechanical inspection, spray painting, crating/woodworking, welding and wiring
  • HS diploma or equivalent (some college in a technical vocation preferred); plus 5 years of experience building machines and large assemblies in a prototype environment
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and perform basic wiring
  • Some experience with machining on conventional lathes, milling machines, surface grinders
  • Experience in QC inspection of high precision parts
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Forklift certified
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work 7am-3:30pm M-F, and be available for OT
Field Service Commissioning Engineer, FT Position, Southfield, MI

Summary: Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.


  • Commissions, calibrates and services new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
  • Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
  • Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
  • Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Maintains records of performance reports and related documentation.
  • Analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, and recommends modifications to eliminate future problems.
  • Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
  • Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.


  • Associates Degree in technical discipline, (B.S. preferred) plus 5+ years of experience in automotive or machine tool manufacturing environment (fluid fill and end of line); or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens S7 PLC and C+
  • Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic skills in machine tool and test
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers
  • Must be able to travel up to 90% of the time, including some international travel
  • Must be available for extensive overtime, sometimes on short notice
Lead QC Inspector, SCHENCK USA CORP. business unit Test Devices, Hudson, MA

Summary: Serves as technical expert for the dimension inspection of all customer critical rotating parts and specialized custom tooling. Responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the complete inspection process, including CMM programming, data management, and workflow management.


  • Inspect manufactured components using mechanical inspection tools and digital inspection equipment
  • Plan inspection activities by reviewing work operation sheets, blueprints, and customer drawings
  • Accountable for current operating policies and procedures in the Quality Management System
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on all inspection equipment, track calibration due dates
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and professional demeanor
  • Interface with Project Managers to schedule requirements and inspection detail
  • Keep abreast of new developments relative to inspection and industry trends


  • HS diploma or equivalent (degree in vocational trade school preferred); plus 5 years of experience as Quality inspector
  • Experience in Lead inspector role
  • Must be able to read and understand mechanical blueprints and drawings
  • Experience programming CMM machine (Zeiss preferred)
  • Good shop math skills
  • Strong PC skills and communication skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be willing to work on a contract to hire basis
