Pump & Impeller Balancing...

Date: Location:
July 17-19 Deer Park, NY

Price: $995.00

This course is an excellent opportunity for those involved with pumps, compressors and turbines to learn techniques that will reduce balancing time as well as rotor rejection due to excess vibration.

Semi-elastic rotors often present a particular challenge when balancing since they flex at operational speed but do not exhibit bending characteristics at their balancing speed. Here, students will closely examine applications of API 610 7th and 8th edition and learn incremental balancing techniques during hands-on practical sessions. Techniques to provide a more reliable high-speed operation will also be covered.

Other topics include:

Causes and effects of unbalance
Units of unbalance
End drive errors
180 degree indexing rotor analysis
Tolerances per ISO 1940/1
Problems and solutions pertaining to API 610 7th and 8th editions
Overhung rotor applications
Calibration & tolerances for narrow plane and overhung rotors
Practical balancing techniques to insure impellers and discs are not over corrected (i.e. when balancing to "zero" is detrimental to proper high-speed operation.

Certification:
Level I- Balancing Operator

Who should attend:

Engineers, supervisors and newly appointed operators or engineers with 2-3 years of practical balancing experience in either manufacturing or maintenance applications. A working knowledge of pump, compressor or turbine applications is recommended.

Calculators are recommended
