An overview of the machine safety
monitoring system for a 500 MW turbo-set. In this instance the
system monitors six relative shaft vibrations, 22 absolute bearing
vibrations, 4 relative shaft expansions, 2 casing expansions, 2
axial shaft positions and 1 operating speed measurement.
