PFA - the test laboratory for balancing technology with worldwide unique competence

Accreditation to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025

The official accreditation of the PFA to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 was carried out in spring 2009 by the German Technical Accreditation Office (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle Technik - DATech). It is therefore the first authorised office worldwide whose testing methods and processes are accredited for the qualification of standards and reference components for balancing technology and unbalance measurement and overspeed systems according to the current technical measurement competence standard. On this basis, the PFA can issue certificates for corresponding test equipment and measurement systems which have to comply with applicable standards of balancing technology or similar documented procedures. In concrete terms, the accreditation covers the following measurement parameters and standards:

  • Geometry
  • Weight
  • Unbalance
  • Speed
  • Vibration speed
  • ISO 2953
  • ISO 11342
  • SAE ARP 4048
  • SAE ARP 4050
  • SAE ARP 4162
  • SAE ARP 5323

Typical applications are master rotors, master rings, trial weights, master and setting rotors, ISO and SAE reference rotors.
