Schenck Balancing Machines for the Textile
Industry
Small textile assemblies that operate at high service speeds such as combing rolls, spinning rolls and winders can be balanced to fine tolerances with Schenck’s RSO balancing machine. These soft-bearing machines can balance the complete assembly in its own housing and can meet the performance requirements that high-speed applications require.
Rigid rotors are balanced on a hard-bearing machine at low-speed, while rotors such as chucks, reversing shafts and bailer rolls are considered flexible rotors and must be balanced at high-speed. Schenck’s HS B/Tex machines were developed in conjunction with textile manufacturers and they have since been used in many production and maintenance applications in the spun-fiber industry. The machine is specifically designed for low-speed and high-speed balancing, and a special instrument is used that is capable of measuring the vibration velocity at the bearings when balancing flexible rotors.
