Schenck Balancing Machines for the Paper Industry

Schenck's universal balancing machines feature a hard-bearing design to closely simulate operating conditions and provide superior results. These machines are available for rolls weighing up to 200,000 lbs., and have a modular design to accommodate rolls that are balanced on their own journals or in their own bearing housings.

Flexible rotors, such as felt rolls, reel spools and some calendar rolls, present a particular challenge since they need to be balanced at, or near operational speed. Our powerful CAB 690 instrumentation has a unique 2F function to measure the effect of half critical resonance in flexible rotors. The CAB 690 can graphically display both unbalance and phase, and provides complete data acquisition capability to track unbalance up to operational speed. Units can also be equipped with an optical whip indicator to measure the displacement of the center roll deflection.
