Disk Drive Balancing Machines
Schenck’s disk drive balancers simplify the balancing process and can have a profound impact on your production capabilities. In order to provide complete versatility, we’ve eliminated many of the conventional balancing machine components and can quickly adapt our hard-bearing supports to integrate with your tooling specifications. The VS10 can be combined with either our CAB 700, or our PC-based CAB
803 instrumentation to deliver precision measuring results for just about any manual application or fully automated production requirement.
•
Small in size – Hard-bearing components directly integrate with most tooling
•
Maximum speed – Able to accommodate present and future disk pack speed requirements.
•
Maximum sensitivity – Designed to deliver accurate measuring results with a sensitivity to .0008 g•in.
•
Easy integration – Simple, PC-Based software (CAB 802) to manipulate and manage rotor data and provide averaging information.
•
Versatile – Can be used for any manual, semi-automatic, or fully-automatic balancing requirement.
Balancing Machines for CD’s and DVD’s
The demand for more power and faster processing speeds from computers seems endless. As the processing speeds increase, data storage devices particularly the CD-ROM and the DVD must keep up with the pace. At these higher speeds, even a small amount of unbalance in the disk can induce a vibratory force large enough to cause tracking errors. If these forces are not eliminated they can substantially shorten the life of the bearings in the drive spindle.
Schenck’s VB1 is specifically designed to offer the highest tolerance capability in the industry with a maximum sensitivity of .0006 g•inches to accurately balance disks with high service speeds. Units can quickly and easily measure the static unbalance of CD’s and DVD’s in manufacturing, research and quality control.
