x-wheel truck d comes to America

This past May, five class 8 heavy duty trucks were the stars at Schenck RoTec Corporation of Auburn Hills, Michigan. Representatives from several truck and bus manufacturers used them to test the x-wheel truck d wheel alignment system.  The result: the x-wheel truck d fulfills manufacturer-specific requirements in terms of measuring accuracy and repeatability as well as national alignment regulations.

The wheel alignment test stand has been specially adapted to the US market and meets the requirements of the US certification organization Underwriters Laboratories (UL). To achieve this, our employees at Schenck RoTec Corporation in the US and Dürr Assembly Products in Germany redesigned the entire control system. They integrated a number of UL-certified components as well as an Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (AB PLC). Allen Bradley is a familiar name for PLC’s in the US market, utilizing this controller afforded acceptance among controls engineers and technical personnel, familiar with troubleshooting AB systems.

Truck manufacturer Peterbilt has already made x-wheel truck d an integral part of its production process. The long-established company based in Denton, Texas, has been using two systems since January 2013. Two further systems were put into operation at the end of June.

x-wheel truck d is an investment that pays off, allowing customers to realize their initial investment within less than 12 months. This is mainly due to low manpower requirements and extremely short cycle times. It takes less than four minutes to measure toe and camber on a three axle vehicle. Each additional axle requires less than a minute.

x-wheel truck d fulfills manufacturer-specific requirements in terms of measuring accuracy and repeatability as well as national alignment regulations. They are real heavyweights: each of them weighs more than 33,000 pounds.
