STC Provides Mentoring and Support to local High School: Hauppauge Robotics Team

Schenck Trebel Corporation provided helping hands of sponsorship, mentorship and support to local Hauppauge High school students and the regional FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) held at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY, April 5-6, 2013. The Hauppauge Team - #358 – The Robotic Eagles contacted STC for guidance and mentorship. Schenck Trebel Corp. sponsored the SBPLI event and assisted the Hauppauge Team in reaching their goals.
The FRC (FIRST® Robotics Competition) of 2013 entailed building a robot (in 6 weeks) that can throw Frisbees accurately into netted boxed goals and climb pyramids (that required the robots lifting themselves off the ground). Over 10,000 spectators gathered at Hofstra University to watch over 50 teams of high school students compete at this Long Island Regional robotics competition in hopes of earning a spot at the FIRST USA Championship to be held April 24-27, 2013 in St. Louis, Missouri.
After over 80 matches, Team Robotic Eagles placed 1st allowing them the opportunity to attend the national championship in St. Louis. The team also received the coveted Chairman’s Award.
Schenck Trebel Corporation is proud to be a part of this local and great cause - supporting the future of LI students and aiding in the advancement of youth engineering and technological education.

Working with Hauppauge students and the FRC organization on the competition and event was of great pride and pleasure.
