Schenck Mass Centering Machines

Mass Centering Machines
Mass centering of crankshafts is often used as the first step in the manufacturing process to determine the correct axis of rotation so it can be machined for maximum performance prior to balancing. Mass centering reduces the initial unbalance, optimizes the possible correction locations, and provides significant performance benefits in many crankshaft applications.

Cost reductions can be achieved by reducing the machining effort in the final balancer, thus increasing throughput and tool life. Less drilling also improves the inner mass compensation and will improve the engine smoothness. Furthermore, the slight additional cost for mass centering against geometric centering can often be compensated with reduced cost for the final balancer. Schenck mass centering solutions are available with length cutting, pad milling and other initial machining steps.
