Schenck Balancing Machines for Drive Shaft
Overhaul

|
| Our HGW balancing machines are specifically designed for the production and overhaul of universal drive shafts. These horizontal, hard-bearing machines are built for low speed and high-speed applications and are able to meet the demanding performance requirements associated with drive shaft balancing such as: |
| • |
High centrifugal forces due to high initial unbalances |
| • |
High centrifugal forces associated with flexible rotor balancing |
| • |
High balancing speed since flexible shafts must be balanced at, or near operating speed. |
| • |
Adequate safety protection for both operating personnel
and environment. |
|
 |
HGW machines incorporate a fixed spindle mounted onto
modular designed supports. The fixed spindle and rigid
support structure can accommodate large initial unbalance
forces as well as high centrifugal forces associated with high-speed balancing. The fixed spindles feature a damping element for safe and accurate balancing.

Schenck's HGW machine is the only machine available which
will allow safe balancing of drive shafts up to 6000 r.p.m.
In the event that higher balancing speeds are necessary,
such as for NASCAR and other special high performance drive
shafts, Schenck has developed HK type machines. Contact your
local Schenck representative, or call 1-800-873-2352 for
more information.
