During
the normal operation of a reciprocating compressor, the
rider band supporting the piston wears away. If the wear is
not caught in time, the piston can contact the cylinder
liner resulting in expensive repairs.Rod Drop is an
excellent measurement technique for increasing the
productivity & profits of a machine. Rod Drop provides a
warning of the vertical piston movement inside a cylinder.
This eliminates the need to shutdown the machine for
inspection & warns the operator to take action before damage
occurs.

VIBROCONTROL 6000™ has the
ability of providing a Rod Drop measurement for two piston
rods simultaneously. Each measurement can be taken from two
points along the rod and averaged over cycles to provide the
best possible. In addition to the Rod Drop Reading, the VIBROCONTROL 6000™ can optionally measure the case vibration
reading of the crank case.
- One or Two Measuring points on the same Piston Rod
- Measure One or Two Piston Rods
- Optional Crank Case Vibration
- 5 Analog Output Signals
- 4 Relay Outputs

Studies
show that most of the downtime and subsequent maintenance
associated with reciprocating compressors are caused by
faults in the cylinders. This includes damage caused by
liquid ingestion, worn crosshead pin, leaking seals,
defective valves, broken piston rings, and broken piston
rods.Impact monitoring is a proven measurement for
detecting these faults at early stages of development.

VIBROCONTROL 6000™ has the
ability of providing an Impact measurement for two piston
rods simultaneously. Each measurement is taken on the
crosshead or extension piece. In addition to the Impact
Monitoring, the VIBROCONTROL 6000™ can optionally measure the
crank case vibration
reading.
- 2 Cylinder Crosshead Readings
- 1 Crank Case Vibration Reading
- API 618 Compliant
- 3 Analog Output Signals
- 6 Relay Outputs.
